Affected Areas

Magaguadavic River Basin: Along the Magaguadavic River, the fields were inundated and water was said to be over Manor Road and the highway to Bonny River in several places. Some residents had to evacuate their homes because of flooded basements and damaged furnaces. St. Croix River Basin: At Milltown, New Brunswick, floodwaters covered the rail line above the upper bridge on Water Street. Many homes in the low lying areas were surrounded by water and flooded cellars resulted.
The level of the St. Croix River rose to within inches of the upper bridge and many motorists used other spans to cross back and forth to Maine.
