Saint John River Basin: Flood conditions existed at Presque Isle, Limestone and Fort Fairfeild, Maine, in the United States portion of the Saint John River Basin. In the New Brunswick portion of the basin, some damage occurred in Grand Falls area. A C.N.R. bridge across Powers Creek near Grand Falls was taken out and other C.N.R. washouts occurred at three points between Grand Falls and St. Leonard. Several highway washouts were reported near Grand Falls as well, including a bridge about two miles south of the town. The fish hatchery at Grand Falls sustained heavy damage when the hatchery dam buckled and some concrete ponds were destroyed. In Woodstock, the Meduxnekeag River was on the rampage, flooding homes, business establishments and streets. A covered bridge at Weston, on the North Branch Meduxnedeag, was carried out; another span was damaged at Brigg's Mill when the dam broke. Two sawmills were swept away by the Meduxnekeag River and many logs were lost. Some cattle were marooned and had to be rescued by boat and barge. The business establishments located on Main Street sustained minor damage. River Street was completely inundated and many cellars were flooded in the community. One family was forced to move their belongings to the upper floor of their home. A bridge across the Becaguimec River, on Highway #24 at Cloverdale, was carried away. At Dumfries, on the Fredericton to Woodstock highway, the road and a section of the C.N.R. track was washed out. Fredericton Area: In Fredericton, many cellars were reported to have been flooded. Nashwaak River Basin: In the Nashwaak River Valley, a highway washout occurred near Stanley at Cross Creek Station. There were several washouts along the C.N.R., halting all rail traffic between Fredericton and Newcastle. At Durham Bridge, a farm was marooned, crops were submerged and farm equipment was lost. The highway was inundated near Penniac. Saint John Area: At Saint John, in the east end, three families were evacuated when the floodwaters threatened their homes. Northeastern New Brunswick: The storm caused considerable damage to the railway and highway routes on the North Shore and Gaspé Coast. The rivers and brooks in this area were said to have "rose rapidly". At the N.B.I.P. Mill, in Dalhousie, approximately 10 000 cords of pulpwood broke loose and drifted out into the Chaleur Bay. At least six farms in the Charlo area were flooded. A highway bridge between Selwood Corner and Eel River Crossing was badly damaged. Restigouche River Basin: Along the Restigouche River and its tributaries, many canoes and motors were swept away. In the Upsalquitch River Basin, at least nine were lost but several had been recovered. Several landslides blocked the highways to Upsalquitch and Wyer¿s Brook. Washouts occurred at several points along the I.N.R. At Val d'Amour, one house was overturned by a combination of the flowing water and wind. Extensive damage occurred to the highways in this area and some telephone poles were completely washed out. In Campbellton, flooded basements were quite frequent in both the residential and business districts. Cairn's Grocery and the F.W. Woolworth store were among the businesses affected. A home near the entrance to the race track was moved off its foundation by the floodwaters of Walker Brook. Miramichi River Basin: In the Miramichi River Basin, the bridge at Red Bank was destroyed. St. Croix River Basin: In the St. Croix River Basin, the Ferry Point Bridge was closed to vehicular traffic for a short period of time. The Ganong Brothers lost packaging materials when water backed up into the basement of their plant through the overtaxed storm sewers.

Saint John River Basin: At Presque Isle, Maine, it was reported to be the largest storm in recent history. At the Tobique Power Plant, a rainfall of four inches [approx. 100mm] was recorded. The flood on the Meduxnekeag and Nashwaak rivers was said "to be the highest since 1923". At Fredericton, a rainfall of 3.8 inches [approx. 96 mm] was recorded. Restigouche River Basin: A 4.7 inch [approx. 119mm] rainfall was reported in the Campbellton area. The rivers in Restigouche County were reported to have "reached spring levels".
Saint John River Basin: At the Grand Falls fish hatchery, approximately 300000 fish were lost when the flood passed. Resulting flood losses were $291 000 in Presque Isle, and $75 600 at Limestone, Maine. One person was drowned at Fort Fairfield, Maine. Restigouche River Basin: In Restigouche County, estimates of the highway damages were in the order of $100 000.
