Lower Saint John River Basin: In Fredericton, the area from York Street to the baseball grounds on the upper side and as far as Smythe Street was under water to depths of one to three feet.Residents on Aberdeen Street were reported as having to use catamarans to go from house to house. The Shoe Factory was forced to suspend their operation for a time. The bridge across Bailey's Creek (Phyllis Creek) near the Hermitage was destroyed. Many bridges were swept away and serious washouts occurred on various railway lines. Numerous washouts were reported on the Gibson Branch of the C.P.R. and the Canada Eastern Railway. The C.P.R. line between Fredericton Junction and McAdam was damaged. A serious washout was reported on the Fredericton Branch, C.N.R., at Glasiers but the damage at the Saint John end of the line was said to be even greater as some twenty-five washouts occurred. A bridge at Hoyt was damaged when an abutment was swept away. Southwestern N.B.: In the St. Croix River Basin, several washouts and landslides were reported to have occurred in various areas.

Total rainfall for the period at Saint John was in the order of 8.37 inches [212mm] while the total rainfall at Fredericton was 8.34 inches [211mm].
Extensive damage to bridges and railway property was reported.
