Affected Areas

Sackville Area: It was reported that the marshes were flooded following about ten days of exceptionally mild weather and rain. Almost all the snow cover was melted, stopping many activities dependent on winter sledding. The majority of lumbermen returned from the woods, and farmers could no longer haul hay, wood, mud, etc. The highways were almost as free from snow as they usually are in April. There was scarcely any frost left in the ground, and ice cover broke up on rivers and lakes.
Very mild weather and rain.
The reports stated that "people could not recall a January thaw similar to it in magnitude".
No estimates of damage were presented.
