Affected Areas

Sources: The Sackville Post 1916/03/31 Sackville Area: Localized flooding occurred in the Town of Sackville as runoff from melting snow accumulated in low lying areas. The field at the corner of Lorne and Dufferin streets was completely submerged for most of the day, and sections of Lorne Street were covered with water by the afternoon. The building occupied by George S. Wry was reported as being entirely surrounded by water. Floodwaters, 15 inches [0.38 m] in depth, was reported to be flowing in the back door of the building and out the front door. Earlier preparations prevented serious damage to the building's contents. Further down the street, the Hay & Feed Company's warehouse was also flooded, more or less damaging a considerable quantity of corn.
Rapid snowmelt.
