A decaying equinoctial storm causing rainfall.
The fall freshet was reported to be the most severe since 1920 or 1921. The equinoctial storm was stated "to be the worst since the Saxby Gale". The tides were higher than usual, reaching 40 feet [about 12 m] in the Memramcook Valley area.
The damage to roads and railways in coastal areas was stated to be heavy because of high winds and waves. The bridge at Upper Dorchester (see note above under 'description') was built in 1924-25 after being destroyed by high tides during the war years.
