Total Reduced Sulphur Details

What is it?
A variety of gases with a characteristic “rotten egg” odour. It is produced by natural decomposition (e.g., in marshes and tidal flats), and certain industrial processes (e.g., kraft pulp mills, and oil refineries).
What does it do?
Causes nuisance odours. At very high concentrations it can cause respiratory irritation and related health concerns. It also contributes to acid rain.
