Saint John River, Woodstock to Oromocto:The heavy rain caused road washouts and minor flooding along the Nashwaak River. High water levels on the Oromocto River also flooded farmland and some farm buildings. Roads were temporarily washed out in the Lower Stoneridge area. Sections of Route 630, near Canterbury, were closed for a few days for repairs.
In Fredericton, just under 40 mm rain fell, with higher rainfalls likely in localized areas. The rainfall broke the previous record for December 11 (26.4 mm in 1959). In Central Blissville on the South Oromocto River, the floor of Russell Smith's barn was flooded by 0.45 metres of water.
Some homes were damaged in the Grafton area. Compensation of $49 200 was paid to two area families for flood damages by the Province of New Brunswick. Road washouts occurred on Route 630, and in the Lower Stoneridge area. Other areas were also affected. The Department of Transportation estimated total damages of $145 000 for York, Carleton, and Victoria counties.
