Sources: The North Shore Leader 1938/12/02. Newcastle-Chatham Area: It was reported that a very high tide, driven by easterly winds, flooded many wharves along the river. Ferry service between Chatham and Ferry Road was cancelled due to the high tide and wind. Shediac Area: The high tide was reported to have flooded the wharf at Point du Chene, and forced 200 people to evacuate their homes.

Newcastle Area: It was reported that over eight inches [20 centimetres] of snow fell during the blizzard, and winds reached speeds of 32 miles per hour [52 kilometres per hour].
Shediac Area: Total damages were reported to be in the order of $250,000. Damages to the wharf at Point du Chene were reported to be in the order of $150,000.
