Moncton Area: The tropical storm and high tides caused Hall's Creek to overflow its banks, inundating several streets, homes and businesses in the northeast end of Moncton. About 50 homes were affected on Commercial, Frontenac, Germaine streets, and Shediac and Lewisville roads. On the Lewisville Road, several businesses, such as Thebeau Body Shop, Steeves Motors Ltd. and Brunswick Ford, sustained losses.
Tropical Storm David
The tropical storm only dumped 17 mm of rainfall on the Moncton area. It was accompanied by winds, which gusted to 74 km per hour.
One family had to be evacuated from their home. The damage to homes and businesses, due to the flooding, sewage backups and electrical fires, was stated to be approaching $1 000 000. Some homes were reported to have three to four [76 to 102 mm] inches of mud in their basements.
