Sussex Area: In the Sussex area, the rivers were described as "rising at an alarming rate". The floodwaters of Trout Creek were said to have swept out a large section of the footbridge spanning the creek between the Military Camp and O'Connell Park. Water from Ward's Creek reached the rear of the grandstand and spilled over onto the soccer grounds and the flats at the rear of the Trinity Church property. Debris was reported to have floated well up Main Street.
