Saint John Area: A snowstorm changing to rain caused some heavy flooding in the Saint John area. The runoff was reported to have been impeded by snow and ice restrictions of the normal drainage channels. Heavy flooding was reported on Rothesay, Thorne and the Golden Mile, making driving hazardous and flooding basements. In Saint John West, some residents also reported basement flooding.
Approximately three inches [7.6cm]of snow, followed by 2.48 inches [63.0mm] of rain, was recorded at Saint John. Water on portions of Rothesay and Thorne avenues was said to be"as deep as two feet".
