Affected Areas

Southeastern New Brunswick: High tides resulted in some inundation of marshland in Westmorland County. Tantramar River Basin: East of Sackville, at the Coles Island Marsh, the high tide was reported to have broken through the dykes in several locations, but the floodwaters did not reach the nearby CBC International shortwave transmitters. The C.N.R. main railway line, located on top of the dyke, sustained a loss of ballast along the sides of the track near the aboiteau. Nothing was reported from the Town of Sackville itself with respect to flooding.
The floodwaters were reported to have nearly reached the bottom of the covered bridge across the Tantramar River on the High Marsh Road, near Sackville.
It was reported that several loads of ballast were required to repair the damage along the C.N.R. main railway line.
