Heavy rains due to extra-tropical storm Bonnie caused localized flooding, flooded basements and roads were reported in Edmundston. Saint-Jacques was the hardest hit. A boil order was issued in the community of Rivière-Verte.

More than 70 millimetres (mm) of rainfall was reported in the Upper St.John River Valley from Clair to Edmundston, 50.9 mm in Fredericton, and 65.4 mm in St.Stephen on August 13th.
In Saint-Jacgues, the Rivière-à-la-Truite Road, Mont Farlagne Road, Réservoir Street, and Demers Street were closed and a number of homes were flooded. The death of Reginald Ouellet, 58 year old man from Quebec was reported, when his truck overturned while crossing a shallow stream near Baker Brook, about 20 kilometres from Edmundston on the Maine and New Brunswick border.
