Heavy rainfall in some Central and Southern parts of the province caused localized flooding on 20th October. Basements were flooded in Fredericton. There was a lot of water on the road in some places. The Old St. Andrew's Road in the St. George area was the only road closed. Water was on the road on Route 8 in Nashwaak Village. The Westmorland Street Bridge was temporarily shut down while city workers removed large amounts of water.
Heavy rainfall resulted in localized flooding during the downpour. Some sewage and drainage pipes was clogged from Autumn leaves blocking storm drains.
The rain began overnight Friday (19th October) and became heavy at times over some Central and Southern regions Saturday morning (20th October). Homes and streets in the capital were flooded. A 16-year old girl was dead following a two vehicle collison on Highway 102 near Upper Kingsclear on Saturday afternoon (20th October). Heavy rain and water on the road may have contributed to the accident.
