Heavy rain on November 22nd and 23rd brought up to 100 millimeters of precipitation to some southern areas of the province. Moncton received over 85 millimeters of rain, filling basements with water in several flood prone areas of the city. McLaughlin Road at Ogilvie Brook was down to one lane due to water over the road. Residents of Moncton’s Westbrook Circle were on high alert as nearby Jonathan Creek was rising at about 15 centimeters per hour due to the rising high tide on the Petitcodiac River. As of 6:30 p.m. on the evening of the 23rd, only one house in the neighbourhood had suffered flooding, and it was not due to the creek. Flooding was also reported in some areas of Centennial Park. While many southern areas of the province received rain, snowfall warnings were issued for Fredericton, Miramichi, Bathurst and the Acadian Peninsula.
