A severe thunder storm hit parts of New Brunswick on June 9th causing power outages and localized flooding in some areas. Flooding along some Moncton streets was reported, and witnesses say the water in the parking lot of the Rogers building in downtown Moncton was high enough to seep into some parked cars. Over 1,900 NB Power customers were left without electricity after the thunder and lightning storm. Most outages occurred in the Fredericton, Bouctouche and Moncton areas.

A spokesperson with the City of Moncton said there were reports of at least 11 flooded basements in the Moncton area after the storm.
