Affected Areas

Sources: The Sackville Post 1917/11/02. General: Reports from the Saint John, Moncton and Sackville areas indicate the storm affected all of southern New Brunswick, but flooding was only specifically reported near Sackville and Memramcook. The high winds caused extensive and widespread damage. Tantramar River Basin: The high tide flooded many sections of the main road to Amherst. It was reported that "much of the work on the dykes done since the recent high tides was swept away".
A storm with gale force winds and rain, combined with a high tide, caused coastal flooding.
No information was presented.
Memramcook River Basin: A serious washout occurred on the I.C.R. railway line west of Dorchester on the night of October 30. Rail traffic was halted until the evening of October 31. Tantramar River Basin: A highway bridge, located a short distance below Wood Point on the road to Rockport, was destroyed by the high tide. The adjacent roadbed was also washed out.
