Restigouche River Basin: An ice jam occurred against the Interprovincial Bridge across the Restigouche River. When it broke, another jam occurred just east of Flatlands. Long Island was submerged. Some basements were flooded in low lying districts. Considerable amounts of lumber were reported to be adrift throughout the river basin.
